The production of metal stamping factories is achieved by applying external forces to plates, strips, pipes, and profiles through presses and molds, causing them to undergo plastic deformation or separation, in order to obtain workpieces of the desired shape and size. This is stamping processing. The three essential things in stamping processing are metal materials, molds, and presses.
According to the deformation characteristics of materials, stamping technology can be divided into two processes: separation and plastic deformation.
The separation process refers to the process where, under the action of external force, the stress on the deformed part of a metal material exceeds the strength limit of the metal material itself, causing the metal sheet to break and separate. Plastic deformation refers to the stress on the deformed part of a metal material under external force exceeding the yield limit of the material itself, but when the strength limit is not reached, only plastic deformation can obtain a certain shape and size.
In the stamping process, stamping deformation can be divided into five types: three-dimensional pressing, bending, rolling, forming, and punching.
Stamping three-dimensional compression deformation: It redistributes volume, transfers metal materials, and changes the shape, height, and thickness of the blank. Bending deformation: It is the process of transforming flat materials into curved parts, allowing the shape of the curved parts to be further altered. There are bends, curls, and twists. Rolling deformation: Stamping the flat blank into the desired hollow part, and further changing the size of the hollow part. Forming deformation: It is the process of changing the shape of a part or blank through local deformation of various properties. Forming deformation includes undulating forming, flanging, necking, bulging, rounding, and shaping. Punching deformation: refers to the separation of one part of a metal material from another, without sealing or not sealing. This method includes cutting, punching, edging, cutting, slicing, cutting, etc.
